[RESOLVED] P3D4 Actvation Problem

Post by Pradierclaude »

P3D4 installation went OK. But when trying to run the program I can only go as far as the Screen that says Activate\Purchase. I click Activate and the Screen disappears but nothing happens. The screen where I should enter the License ID & the license Activation Password does not come up. I have tried several reinstalls also with UAC and Anti-Virus disabled but the same always happens. Any help much appreciated...
Regards... Claude
PS: The OS is Win7 and I have also tried an install with anti-Virus disabled with the same negative results. Turning OFF the Firewall had no effect either.

Hello,

Can you delete your generated files and run Repair on Prepar3D?

To delete generated files run the "Delete Generated Files" shortcut located in your Prepar3D directory.

I do not understand what you mean by " Shortcut ". Am I looking for an executable file (.exe) ? And if so in which subdirectory (folder) of my Prepare3D4 installation is it located ? Again please what is the filename that will trigger the deletion of those files ?

The shortcut should be in the Prepar3D v4 main folder. It is called "Delete Generated Files" and has the type of shortcut. (It is a shortcut to a .exe)

If you can't find it you may need to manually delete generated files.

To manually delete generated files, open Windows Explorer and type %appdata% and hit enter. Go into the "Lockheed Martin" folder, and delete the "Prepar3D v4" folder.

Then type %localappdata% and hit enter. Go into the "Lockheed Martin" folder, and delete the "Prepar3D v4" folder.

Finally, type %programdata% and hit enter. Go into the "Lockheed Martin" folder, and delete the "Prepar3D v4" folder.

This would delete generated files.

I have tried doing this already and it did not work. I uninstalled Prepare3D4 via the Control Panel and then deleted manually all remaining files and folders in the main Prepare3D folder as well as those in Appdata. Then tried to reinstall and it still did not work. Same results when I tried to run the program the first time. .. Stuck at the Actvate\Purchase scree... Any other ideas please.

I removed all traces of the Prepare3D4 application via the Control Panel. As well as all the folders and files in the Main Application Directory and Appdata Directory. I am getting the 0xffffff7 - unspecified error. I have saved a copy of the Install log . Here is the last few lines .

Hello,

Do the md5 checksums on your download match the checksums listed on our download page?

The checksums verified OK. My issues had to do with the Win7 UiAautomationCore.dll. Downloaded the Hotfix from Microsoft and installed it. All is working fine now. I was able to activate Prepare3D4 and it is running properly. Many thanks for your help.
