Loss of aerial perspective - V5.3 with EA switched off

Post by pinepix »

Did a full re-install of V5.3 and I noticed that the aerial perspective effect (where distant objects like mountains would become less colour saturated with increasing distance) is now completely absent when disabling enhanced atmospherics (EA). This was working fine up to V5.2. I prefer not to use EA at this stage because of the orange cast it creates.

The mountains in the background is 40-50 km away but they seem to be right next to the airport. They should be fading away in the distance.

I noticed this too, no volfog with EA off.
Are you using ActiveSky? There might be problem with their latest version, users in HiFi‘s forum are reporting the same issue….

To the moderator, i think what he means that vol fog is NOT present currently when one has turned off EA mode.

Me and many others i know have this problem too. Ppl post this in the ActiveSky forum but i think this is a sim issue. Usually there should be some form of haze in the distance, this is set to absolute 0 atm. Making the hoizon line visible.

Some pics of this effect

Absolutely, this is a bug that needs to be fixed. No more horizon haze in v5.3, very ugly effect!

Yeah, be nice to have sun glow back too with EA switched off, like it was in Prepar3d v4.5

It is already addressed :-) See here, you can fix it by tweaking the shader.
