Need help before updating to v5.3 hf2

Post by cirurgiao »

Created a new topic but got no answer.
Before updating to v5.3 HF2 need to clarify some issues.
A complete uninstall will imply that I'll lose all my +100 payware sceneries & aircrafts?
If I copy files inside all folders that will be manually deleted as instructions here warn that must be done after uninstalling v5.2 and before installation of v5.3 HF2 and then I copy these files inside the same folders created by new installation will it work properlly or I' going to create a big problem here?
Tks

Hello ,

Have you asked our Add-on scenery / aircraft developers ?

Vaughan, tks for answering.
My first topic had no answer from anyone so I thought that topic tittle wasn't correct.
Have v5.2 installed and like I posted here I understand that v5.3 (HF2 now) is a huge update; not only running installer but uninstalling v5.2 before, deleting manually all residual folders.
From my point of view I'm certain that there are a lot of P3D simmers that have paywares and so had the same question as mine:
What happens with all my paywares after a complete P3Dv5.2 uninstall and installing P3Dv5.3?
Shouldn't Prepar3D support team have answer to this (in my view) simple question?
Not complaining though

Hi cirurgiao ,

You are welcome.

Each Add-on is unique.

I have no idea what your setup looks like.

Some Add-ons may not be updated for the current P3D version yet.

Some could be installed inside P3D and some outside P3D.

Have you asked any of your Add-on scenery / aircraft developers what they recommend for your specific setup ?

Eduardo, allow me a quote:

"Shouldn't Prepar3D support team have answer to this (in my view) simple question?"

Look in your EULA, to which there is a link at the bottom of this page, in section 6.2.

Vaughan => didn't ask any of them => it seems that will need to do it
Jorgen => like i wrote I wasn't complaining. Just asking if things like that (uninstalling a previous version - in my case v5.2) before installing v5.3 HF2 with full installer, like a new installation, could have happened with others. Sorry if it seemed that I was complaining.
Will ask them (a lot of work with +100 sceneries and aircrafts - PMDG, Aerosoft, QualityWings) but...
tks
