VRR/Gsync turns off when the cursor is visible on screen

Post by airbader »

I'm disappointed that this old bug is still present in 5.3. Whenever the cursor is present on screen, gsync/VRR stops working.

Sorry that you're experience this issue. If VRR is being forced off, it is the OS forcing it off. It may depend on OS version, graphics devisers, etc. Windows full screen issues in D3D11/12 are difficult to nail down because the OS sets the mode for you based on it's determination of whether or not the monitor is fully covered by a borderless window. We might be able to work around this issue by forcing the cursor off and drawing our own cursor. With all the window, panel, and UI options that we support, emulating the cursor is a much bigger feature request than it might seem.

That's a bummer but I appreciate the reply. Thanks, Beau.
