Ground View Wobbling

Post by msintle »

Toggling the ground view once in flight (Num 5) results in an incredibly wobbly view that spins around multiple times per second.

Not sure which update(s) this happened after, but it does reproduce with the latest version (6.1.9).

Is there a way to resolve this, or would another patch be required for this fix?

Hi msintle ,

Are you using any viewing software e.g., like Chaseplane?

Absolutely no third party add-ons or software of any kind.

However I have a "dual monitor" setup of sorts (asus rog duo 16) where a 2560x1600 display is combined with another 2560xsmaller display below it, in case that would make a difference. The primary view spans both displays as an atomic display.

When I hit Num 5 right after take-off, I see something like the ground is moving back and forth a bit, but this effect decreases as I climb, and finally disappears (default flight in default aircraft).

Do you see your issue at all altitudes, and what are your system specs?

For me the effect gets substantially worse as I climb.

AMD 7945HX, CPU affinity set to all cores (32 with SMT), 64 GB 5200MHz RAM, 16 GB 4090GTX.

Are you still having this problem?

Absolutely. I don't have it only when I'm on the ground at a standstill. Even as I pick up speed taxiing, the runway lines suddenly start wobbling to 40 degree angles; before even take off.

Ok,

Take off in the default jet to a few thousand feet.
Take one screenshot (or short video) before pressing the Num_5 key and another screenshot while holding the Num_5 key down.

I use Lear45, that'll be fine I hope?

I cycle through the views so you may see everything else is just fine.

Why are there two views?
Where do the two view come from?

I had read that.
However, I was surprised to see two views in a video clip.

I have a two monitor setup and I can only get one monitor in a video clip (screen recording software).

Possibly your custom setup is causing the problem.

Can you remove the 2nd monitor and go back to a default one monitor setup for testing?

Edit:
Watching the clip again ... were you shooting the video with a mobile phone?

Yes of course. I didn't want to figure how to record two views simultaneously otherwise.

So any ideas for a fix? Is it a software bug?

Watching the clip again I see both displays (views) are all messed up.

I cannot re-create your custom setup for testing.
