P3D V6.1 new vegetation performance hit

Post by toorop58 »

Hello

Thanks for 6.1, but did notice a huge performance hit of the new vegetation.bgl file. Fortunately I did backup the old one, so I can compare with the same settings at the same location. Fps hit is huge : 25% fps loss if areas with high forest density (50% of surface or more) ans there is also one awfull "popup" effect with vegetation aspect changes close to the plane very noticeable if flying low : this ruins the vegetation's aspect improvements

So I went back to the old bgl file still working

PS : P3D V6.1 running on Windows 11 / GPU i7 8700K / 32 Go RAM / Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti 8 Go

Hi
Same constatation for me. Unfortunately, I didn't make a back up of the vegetation.bgl. I lost also 25% of FPS and I can't solve that myself.

Is it possible to use the v5 file ? Or will that cause other issues ?

As far as I know it is possible to use V5 file (it is also possible to use the whole V5 Scenery Folder via a symbolic link - renaming the V6 folder of course - to get rid of V6 scenery bugs...)
