Missing effects between displays on same PC
Missing effects between displays on same PC
Does anyone know why some AI effects (tail lighting, landing lights, strobes, etc) appear only on one of three displays connected to the same graphics card? The three displays that make up my forward, left 45 and left cockpit views are all on the same RTX 3090. Only on the forward display do all the AI effects work right. The other two they do not. Can't figure it out.

Re: Missing effects between displays on same PC
Let me give an example of what I'm talking about:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/0taykud2571o3 ... e.PNG?dl=0
The left half of the image is my F/O side forward visual display on graphic card 2 output 1, and the right image is the right 45 degree display on same graphic card but output 2. Note that the forward view all the AI aircraft lighting effects are illuminated but in the right view they are dark.
I have set the displays up using multichannel view group management. There is a host server PC with all settings turned down to minimum, and two client PCs. The view group spans across 6 displays (3 on the capt side, 3 on the FO side).
LM, can you tell me why this might occur? Same card, different display adapter IDs, so you'd think they should display exactly the same. Is there some setting I'm missing that needs to be enabled to ensure the AI effects are consistent across all display adapters on the same GPU?

Re: Missing effects between displays on same PC
Well, I've tried everything I can think of and cannot get all three displays on the same card to display the same AI effects. I don't know how that is even possible without it being some sort of internal bug, but it seems like Lockheed has given up on helping people so I'm going to have to live with it I guess.

Yeah, I'd like to say I'm shocked. Typical legalese to CYA for everything.
Still doesn't change the fact they have a problem with their software that needs to be fixed.

I restarted this over on the Client Application side since this forum doesn't seem to get much traffic. I'll continue my diagnosis there where I hope more people may have some ideas.

Did you do the test with just P3D (versionxxxyyy?) default AI traffic (day and night)?

Hmm, haven't tried that yet. I'm not sure how to easily disable AIG and re-enable just default AI traffic.
If I can figure it out, I'll give it a try.

Re: Missing effects between displays on same PC
To follow-up on this, I switched to WideView/WideTraffic to sync the master and two clients, and used local view groups on each PC to align the visuals. The AI lighting worked correctly across all the displays.
That leads me back to my original conclusion that multi-channel seems to be the culprit.
