Hei thank you both for replying. I will try to fix the odd previes with this method. There are only a few aircraft completely off the window. Maybe the update will have another way to set up the previev. In FSX it works better though.

Regards

Thanks for reporting this, Dan. We'll look into adjusting the aircraft in the preview window.

Aircraft's default 1.0 zoom is determined by the exterior model's 1/2 wingspan radius value. Unfortunately, that value is calculated and written into the .mdl file based on the 3d software's interpretation of the mesh's largest bounding box. Sometimes this results in the aircraft appearing tiny in the preview window, or the opposite extreme of being too large.

Arno from FS Developer wrote a neat utility program several years ago that will allow anyone to reset the exterior model's radius to a more reasonable value. I am currently working on a KingAir 350i, which for a variety of reasons winds up with a calculated radius value of 127.xxx meters! I keep this tool loaded so I can instantly reset the value to 6.6 meters with one button click each time I export/compile from Max2012... :)

For the record, this tool works for any FSX "native", P3Dv1.x, or P3Dv2 exterior model.
