Prepar3D v2 Hotfix (2.5.12943.0)
Hi,
this must be really annoying for developers like HiFiSim, ORBX, FSDreamteam, Pete Dawson, and others, who are continually tasked with informing customers/updating/re-uploading/re-announcing their adapted versions instead of further developing their software.
Is there indeed no possibility to provide standardized entry points for them at least during minor versions? I am not a coder, but IMO there should be a .dll or .dlls providing external entry points for addon-developers masking interal changes. The developers named above have been in this business for many years, have continually and enthusiastically supported Prepar3d, and should deserve a clearly known and version consistent set of variables they need to have access to.
I am not yet speaking about the hassle for ordinary end users.
Thanks für considering, Michael

Hej Adam,
Will there be a hotfix for the contrail error, we all suffer with?
All in all, my v2.5 works nicely with all my orbx etc. Only a few
minor problems with my "PrecipitFX.exe" worked fine in v2.4 but
now I can't get it to work in v2.5!, it telling me that the
installation was ok, but can't se any change into the ugly
rain/snow that we have now.
Regards
Geert

I would just like to thank LM for the hotfix.
The only addon that is not OK for me now is ASN which I can live without for now.
I have been on board P3d from the start and this latest version is great for me, no problems so far with my 777, Fs2crew or Orbx England and Scotland.Or Aerosft Airbusses.
Thanks again.

I've only in the last few days finished re-loading all my scenery and got all my tools to work with 2.5, so this is not good. No way am I going to jeopardise my well running sim' for a fix which apparently causes so many problems.
Forgive me but I always understood that updates and fixes were supposed to make things better, not worse. All this fix seems to do is correct one set of problems that the developer themselves should have foreseen and created an equal number of problems for their customers and outside developers who enhance their product. Having altered their product to accomodate 2.5 only recently, if I was one of those developers I would be spitting blood by this time!
I've downloaded the hotfix but will not be using it until all the problems caused by it are resolved.

If you own AS2012 it will work with V2.5; True it isn't as good as ASN but you will get real world weather and that's what counts. I had some other problems with V2.5, they are artifacts. At one time, taxiing to the gate at UK2000 Doncaster the whole scenery turned into black and white; as iff I was looking at an IR sensor image. Finnaly the MJC Q400 stood up it's tail and obviously crahed. The trick now is to find out what caused it: uk2000 or ASN beta for V2.5 without the hotfix. Artifacts also hapend at Vilnius EYVI by Aerosoft, playing about with the memory optmisor [Glary utilities] seemed to correct it then [also before the hotfix] I'm now monotoring PC memory and the graphics card memory.
