P3Dv5 HF2 Scenery Objects Impervious to EA Atmospheric Effects and Visibility

Post by cwburnett »

Having done a fresh install of HF2 today I noticed on my first test flights that some scenery objects (BGL not autogen) now appear impervious to the atmospheric effects. This is new with HF2. Is this as expected or is there something amiss with my installation? These shots were taken at noon at LSZH, EDDN and EDDH. All three are from different developers and all are supposedly v5 compatible.

Add me too to this issue (knowing it is Beta, but we want to make sure it is getting solved).

Thanks a lot!

I have seen exactly the same effect as well on some autogen buildings. It didn´t happen with HF1.

I also encountered the same problem, everywhere in the world, especially seneray with addon installed
This is a frequent problem with HF2 and P3DV4. Not in HF1.

I found that when the distance is far enough, they will be covered by fog, but once the distance is close to a certain value, they become very abrupt.

I tried to modify the anti-aliasing of the graphics card, the quality of the texture, the settings of the world, the settings of the lights, but none of them could be solved. Unless EA is turned off. :o(

Same here:

ORBX GLobal + OpenLC with EA enabled. Happens pretty much everywhere I've flown so far.

Some other airports may not have this problem, but there are problems with the surrounding buildings.

In 2018, I once posted on the ORBX forum to question this abrupt stone on the hill on the north side of the airport. Orbx replied that it was an ASP4 problem. It is not easy to say whether it is caused by ASP4 or EA. I think the latter is more likely. ORBX has not solved this problem so far. After 2 years, it finally appeared in P3DV5 HF2. This is a very tragic thing.
