Multiplayers

Postby raemich » Mon Mar 02, 2020 4:02 pm

Hello dear users,
I am part of a community that would like to practice multiplayers under Prepar3Dv4.
Lockheed Martin has not offered a server, so it is up to each user to create the conditions to be able to multiplay.
This is not simple, too many conditions are unclear, although the Forums are full of information, it remains difficult to know what is true or false.
While Lockheed Martin is good at explaining how to use the menu interfaces and the IP address, it is less verbose about the framework conditions.
Left to one side by the developers, wanting to multiplayers while trying to find these famous framework conditions is a challenge.
Each PC, each user has a different configuration, however, if we were to summarize in a concise way what it is mandatory to do (firewall, anti-virus, router or Modem, same version of the simulator, etc.), in short, a summary of the approach would be welcome.
At the stage which is ours (our community), generally we manage to host, we manage to join in direct IP, without third party software such as LogMeIn HAMACHI or OpenVPNi, but the problem is that the player who joined gets ejected 1 to 2 seconds after being in the game. It becomes impossible to guarantee a session in this context of difficulty to stay in session. I would like to point out, that in rare occasions, we have been able to create a session, which I must say has proven to be stable.
Can a charitable soul devote himself to this cause, by clearly expressing the framework conditions for a successful and stable connection for all players in a session?
Considering what we do, JoinFS is not the solution.

In advance, I thank you very sincerely.

Well said Raemy.  I agree with everything you said.  You aren't the only one having trouble.  There needs to be a clearly stated/presented instructional manual/video which points to all the correct settings  (firewall, anti-virus, router or Modem, same version of the simulator, etc.) for a working multiplayer environment considering all of the different user systems (assuming everyone has minimum system requirements).
