Joystick function

Post by EvaTherese »

I have the logitech extreme 3Dpro, and ask in this forum since the problem is within the P3D: suddenly the hat switch only pans upward. Earlier today I could use it to pan in all direction. I have tried to restart the program but with no success. In the control option it is set on view (pan), but does not work properly of a sudden. --

Any suggestions?

Thanksl

Eva,

Glad you are up and running again.

I have seen this problem reported recently.

Is your default flight the F22 at KVPS?

Are you testing with that default flight?

Did you search this forum?

Hi

Is your default flight the F22 at KVPS?
- I´m not sure what you mean, but I installed the A2A Cessna 182, and it worked fine. Then I installed the DISCUS K GLIDER X FSX P3D from A2A, and the problem started when I started up flying the glider, it was not able to control, (that was what happend previously as well, and went away when I reinstalled the P3D) and the switch did not work properly on other planes either after this.

Are you testing with that default flight?
- yes, its the same with all the flights i try...

Did you search this forum?
- I did, And see a guy have the same issue back in 2018, but there is no more to what he did to solve the issue. Saw other as well, seem not to be uncommon...

Thanks,
Eva

Eva,

I use FSUIPC (registered) to set up Saitek Pro Yoke/Throttle Quads, CH Pedals and the Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog all without any problems in P3Dv4.5HF2.

I cannot help 100% in your situation as you are not using FSUIPC.

In your setup you mentioned your joystick and HAT switch was initially working ok then later the HAT switch stopped working, correct?

Do all other Joystick buttons, Axes , sliders work properly when assigned and Calibrated inside P3D?

Is it only the Hat switch that is not working at this time?

Yes, everything else works fine, it's just the hat switch, and only on p3d, works fine in other programs like fxs.

Eva,

In addition to my previous post.

You are not using Chaseplane or Ezdok or other view changing program, correct?

In VC
Test key combos:

CTRL + Q
SHIFT + CTRL + Q

In VC cockpit and Outside view:
With NUM LOCK = On (LED lit)

use each num pad key one at a time.
Does you view change?

Hi,

ment FSX, its the microsoft flight simulatior program.

I am not sure what you mean with "Chaseplane or Ezdok or other view changing program", I´m using the prepar3d v4.5... ?

Outside view is not working either, can only pan upward, and then it gets stuck...its the same with all planes I try

TRYING:
CTRL + Q
SHIFT + CTRL + Q
works fine!

Currently, when you
Reboot your PC
start P3D and the initial screen comes up
Click OK (this should load the P3D default flight F22 at KVPS)
Is the F22 loading at KVPS?

Eva,

KVPS - Eglin Air Force Base/Destin-Fort Walton Beach (the default P3D airport).

Could you return to making the F22 at KVPS your default flight when P3D starts up (for testing)?
then
Exit P3D.
Unplug your Joystick from PC's USB port.
Reboot PC
Plug your Joystick back into the PC's USB port.
Start P3D default flight F22 at KVPS.
Retest the HAT switch with the F22.
