Hello,
have exactly the same problem with the sound.

Re: Sound Issue with P3D 4.4
LM Team,
I am a sound designer for a major addon aircraft developer and am shocked this issue slipped through the release.
Having been involved in MSFS/ESP/P3D since the 90s, the bug of the engine pitch being higher/lower when going from the outside view to the cockpit is eerily similar to the exact sound glitch in FS2000 that had this very behavior. It was fixed for FS2002 and has been since the last revision of P3D which was 4.3.
Additionally the sound engine now distorts engine sounds that are perfectly mixed, mastered and compiled for use in P3D that should not distort at all.
This is extremely frustrating to me as it will make it impossible to ensure my sounds are playing back as designed in the sim in the future while developing if not fixed.
This distortion and pitch issue needs to be a TOP priority for you guys over at LM. IMHO it can't wait for the next revision it needs to be a hotfix item if possible.
Sound is very important to the user experience. It's one of 2 senses experienced by the user using P3D.
You guys have done amazing things for this platform and occasionally things happen, but I'm just perplexed how this became an issue in the first place and was missed by the Beta test. Hoping you guys can revert whatever was done to the sound playback engine to restore it to it's original fidelity.

Re: Sound Issue with P3D 4.4
You can try adding the following config setting to your Prepar3D.cfg [sound] section.
[sound]
time_constant=0;
Report your results please.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike, it looks like it worked.
Thank you
Toni :-)
Thank you

Re: Sound Issue with P3D 4.4
Do you also need to add the ';' symbol? No entry is the config file has that?
Re: Sound Issue with P3D 4.4
It works without as well, so you don't need it.

The semi-colon was inadvertent, but it doesn't matter in this case.

It looks like that did the trick!
Great job and thank you very much.
Out of curiosity will this tweak have to be permanent or will it eventually be embedded and integrated into application?
Previous P3D versions never needed this setting for proper playback so that's why I'm wondering.
We had a customer inquiry about the sound glitch if it was our product, I'll update their inquiry and inform them of the new fix from you guys.
Great Work.

Re: Sound Issue with P3D 4.4
It's unclear at this point. The v4.4 change was made to fix another issue, so we will investigate how best to handle both issues.
Thanks for testing,
Mike

In C:\Users\*Your Name*\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4
Make sure you can see hidden folders.
Also, happy to report that the entry given by Mike did indeed work. Thanks.
