Hi,
Yesterday there were with P3D4.5 in the approach to EIDW
a system crash with blue screen. Win10 has apparently not
harmed but in P3D the loading times of an AddOn take 10 minutes.
From the volume on which P3D is installed I have always backups
with VEEAM made. Unfortunately a restore of the volume D:\P3D
did not improve the long loading time.
My question is, can I the Lockheed Martin folder on the system partition
with VEEAM restoren and solve the problem with the long loading time?
With kind regards
Ciao

long loading time of addons in P3D4.5
Re: long loading time of addons in P3D4.5
Horst,
In general, the more add-ons you have (and that include scenery, aircraft (both flyable and AI) and AI flight plans), the longer time loading will take.
So, what can you do? First of all, overclock your CPU if possible. Then install P3D on a drive different from the OS drive, and install your add-ons on drives different from both. Your drives should all be SSDs, and if possible the faster NVMe drives.
To sum it up - it takes money, unfortunately. But at least you have some pointers now.

Re: long loading time of addons in P3D4.5
Hi Jorgen,
until the system crash the loading time of the addons was
between 3,5 and 5 minutes. Why should I now use the
overclock the processor? That does not make sense to me now.

Horst,
Those are general steps for reducing the load times.

Re: long loading time of addons in P3D4.5
Hi,
The problem with the long charging time no longer exists.
This morning I wanted to repeat the flight EDDH-EIDW, which was inevitably terminated by a system crash.
It began with the waiting time of 10 minutes, then I had to start P3D again because of an operating error and again
wait 10 minutes.
But now everything went according to plan and I could send the A320 into the virtual air. The flight ended with a perfect landing. After that I quit P3D and started it again. Who describes my astonishment, the A320 stood cold&dark at the gate in EDDH after 1 minute 20 seconds. Immediately P3D again started and in EDDM again only 1 minute 20 seconds. I repeated the procedure with further airports. Even after a PC restart, the loading times remained well below 2 minutes.
That means, problem solved.
