P3DV5 version 5.0

Post by skywalker »

Hi all,

Since I installed the latest version of P3DV5 (5.2.22.27615.zip- containing the Hotfix 1 and 2) I encountered a number of problems.

The sim stops suddenly going into a “Pause” losing all keyboard connections, etc.

I have re-installed it a few times but unfortunately the same results.

I would like to go back to the basic version V5.0. I searched in the P3D download page, but there is not option to download any previous version.

Can anyone help to find this previous version?

Thank you.

Hi skywalker
In your download page you will see always the last version of your Prepar3D. So it is impossible finding that you want.
But it is recommended to run the latest version.
Is your Windows up to date?

Skywalker,

I am sorry to be cynical, but the issue you report:

"The sim stops suddenly going into a “Pause” losing all keyboard connections, etc."

sounds more like a hardware issue to me. I could be wrong, but I do not recall any others reporting this.

Do you see similar issues when running other programs on this computer?

Hi all.

Thank you for your comments. Let me give you some history to this problem.

After the initial installation V5.0, the simulator work OK without any problem (s/w or h/w). The inconsistency in the simulator behaviour started after the installation of the HF1 and HF2.

After so many trials and errors, I decided to re-install the last released version from my account (P3DV5 - 5.2.22.27615.zip). During the installation I used the “Repair” installation feature hopping this could fix the problem.

To my disappointment nothing improved, the same issues.
I then, uninstalled all the sim’s files from the PC and started a clean installation using again the last version (P3DV5 - 5.2.22.27615.zip).

But the problems persist afet the new installation.
  • -After a few minutes flying, all commands issued with keyboard (e.g.:“G”, “P”, “Alt”, “Shift+P”, “Crt+C”, etc. etc.) do not work. To continue I have to kill the sim (I used the default assignments).
-When and if the sim started, after a few minutes and suddenly the simulator goes into “Pause” by itself. To continue I have to kill the sim.
-At times if I selected a saved flight plan when I selected the “OK” button with the mouse the sim stops completely and closed by itself.
I have been involved with flight simulation for the last twenty years or so, experiencing h/w and s/w problems but it is the first time encountering this type of issues after installing an update, or the latest released version.

I would like to install a fresh V5.0 version (because I did not have any problem at all), windows is current and no h/w changes, then proceed from there to find out what the problem is. That’s why I would like to find out where I could find the V5.0 to download.

Best regards.

You can only download the client at https://cloud.prepar3d.com/legacy/5.0.3 ... .35253.msi. There is no way to legally download the entire 5.0 application. Perhaps if you open a trouble ticket they can get it for you.
