System upgrade question

Dear LM & fellow simmers,

I am upgrading the RAM in my system from 16GB to 32GB (removing old, replacing with new kit), do I have to de-activate/uninstall P3D before installing the new RAM or not?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I did not do that when I upgraded my own RAM, and had no issues.
