hello All,
Thank you all for your help. The solutions suggested do not work. It is not my GPU, nor is it my RAM etc. Currently still unable to get P3D 5.1 to start correctly without some error.
So many people on here have same issue. I would hope that LM is working on a fix or a solution soon. I am not interested in another simulator at this point. I am 100% LM P3D. Help please.

Regards

Sam, take a look at this - Gigabyte's web page for your graphics card:

https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/ ... WB-11GC#kf

Now, look under "Core Clock", and you will see:

1770 MHz (Reference card: 1545 MHz)

The 1545 MHz is nVidia's clock rate for the 2080TI, meaning Gigabyte has overclocked the card you have by 225 MHz.

This might be OK, except that from time to time we have seen in these forums that graphics card overclocking has caused issues, and that removing the overclocking and running the card at nVidia's reference clock rate has fixed the issue. It is something to be aware of.

But, maybe more appropriate to your particular problem, try making a copy of your prepar3d.cfg file and put it somewhere safe. Then delete your prepar3d.cfg file, and now try to run P3D again - does the problem recur now?

Hello JorgenSA,

I really do appreciate your assistance mate. Ok, after looking at your post I have gone ahead and now running at 1545MHz with GPU and it makes no difference what so ever. I have even gone to the extreme and changed GPU's but the same issue is still happening.
I am sure someone will find a solution. It was worth a try. Even when I did get it up and running another issue was blurry scenery.
If I find a fix I will post it on here.

Sam,

As I have said before, this is being worked upon, so I am sure something will happen - sometime!

Did you try deleting prepar3d.cfg and running with a freshly-generated default one?

These are the fixes I would recommend:

1. When you run P3D, do not run anything else at the same time (clean up what might be running in the background as well),

2. Update your Windows 10 to the latest level, and make sure that under Update, the switch called "Receive updates for other Microsoft products" is set to On - and leave it like that,

3. Update your graphics drivers to the latest from AMD, and

4. Make sure you have P3D v. 5.2 HF1.

I have a 1080 Ti and only experienced this problem when I had MSI Afterburner and Riva Tuner installed a few months back.

I updated my system the other day and was stupid enough to give MSI Afterburner another try, and you can guess what happend … DXGI Hung error, especially everytime when loading the Aerosoft Airbus Professional. Even though I hadn’t changed any GPU settings. I couldn‘t get my head around it at first and then I remembered the problems with MSI Afterburner. I therefore uninstalled BOTH the MSI Afterburner and Riva Tuner. No more problems since (so far). Just removing Afterburner didn’t do the trick, I had to remove both. Hope this may help others.

Sergiozaki,

Nvidia's base clock rate for a RTX 3090 TI is 1670 MHz, and they specify its "maximum boost rate" as 1860 MHz.

EVGA runs this EVGA RTX 3090 TI Ultra card at 1800 MHz, so near the maximum boost as specified by nVidia. You can then argue if this is called overclocking or not, but the fact remains that this card is running over the nVidia base clock rate.

The above values are taken from the specifications on the EVGA and nVidia websites.

Things that you do need to avoid this error, but that you do not mention:

1. P3D up to the latest version

2. Windows, whether 10 or 11, updated to the latest level, including the "other Microsoft products"

3. Your nVidia drivers also to the latest level.
