P3D HF2 desapears

Post by mpni »

Hi,
I just bought P3Dv5 Academic (5.0.31.35253)
Installation and activation went well.
I launch P3D in admin, the scene index is created and after a few minutes the screen disappears and I have nothing.
I did a repair of the P3Dv5 Academic.
I had the Prepar3D.cfg redone. No more success.
Installation is done as follows :
F: \ Lockheed Martin \ Prepar3D v4
F: \ Lockheed Martin \ Prepar3D v4 SDK
F: \ Lockheed Martin \ Prepar3D v5
F: \ Lockheed Martin \ Prepar3D v5 SDK

Any idea ???
Regards
Michel

Michel,

From this I can see no logical explanation why P3D (and you have the latest HF2 version) should not work on your system.

But please confirm this: you say you run the program as an Administrator, but did you also run the installer as an Administrator? I would imagine you did, but I need you to confirm that.

Other than that, what might be the problem is this: EZFDR64.DLL - as far as I can find out, this is a 3rd-party device driver, which may be outdated.

For fixing that, and for updating device drivers on your motherboard in general, you might want to find a driver updater, if you don't have one already. Personally, I use one called Driver Booster, and that is available in a free and in a paid version. I had the free version first, and liked it so much that I bought it and now maintain drivers on 3 system with it. But there are several other driver updaters out there.

Your event viewer suggest the problem is your Joystick.

Can you remove the GXT 555 Predator temporally and see if V5 launches?

Great!

Next step, talk to the joystick manufacturer about v. 5 compatibility.

Thank you very much Jorgen.
I found the last driver and now P3Dv5 can be launched.
But I have another problem now : I can't go to the options page.
If the flight is not launched, when I click on the options button, P3D launch the flight and no possibility to go to options page.
If I am in flight, when clincking on Options, the page is black and P3D crahes.
I try with and without the joystick with the same result.
I try also to rebuilt the P3D.cfg with no more luck.

And those 2 sections look like mine... so I am running out of ideas, for now at least....

Do you have any add-ons installed, so that if necessary, you could do a complete uninstallation and reinstallation?

I do not like to suggest this, but if that is possible, I can send you instructions on how to really uninstall everything and then do a virgin install.
