Prepar3D v4 or v5?
Prepar3D v4 or v5?
Hi guys, recently I decided it's time to finally move from FSX to P3D [that is, until FS2020 has decent amount of addons; no, I did not decide yet to buy P3D]. Question is: which version is better to get in terms of addons and performance? v4 or v5? I mainly fly in Europe if it depends.

If your hardware is up to it, v. 5.

Definitely v5. DirectX 12 will give you a good performance boost. When I built my new PC a year ago, I went from v4 to v5 as well as upgraded my hardware. Massive performance boost. Went from FPS being in the 20’s to upper 40’s-low 50’s. Higher graphics settings too. Enhanced Atmospherics is also a nice boost to realism.

Absolutely, V5….uses less Vram and offers Dx12 as noted in previous post
