PREPAR3D 5 AND VIRTUAL MACHINE SERVER

Post by luce19 »

I have a question for you:
How to run P3D 5 under Windows Server 2016 Datacenter Edition (64 Bit)?

V 4 works fine under the same VPS server

Thank you

The main difference is that the new engine uses DirectX12. You'll need to make sure you have DirectX12 drivers, and that your VM solution supports DirectX12.

Hi, I have done all the necessary research and it turns out that the virtual server supports dx12 and the drivers are installed. I noticed that during the run up of p3d the boot process stops after loading 102/105 Mb of data and the cpu stops processing data. The p3d.cfg file that P3D create contains only this data:

[GRAPHICS]
SCREEN_CAPTURE_MAX_JOBS = 10
VIDEO_CAPTURE_WIDTH = 720
VIDEO_CAPTURE_HEIGHT = 480
VIDEO_CAPTURE_FPS = 30
VIDEO_CAPTURE_BIT_RATE = 3200000
VIDEO_CAPTURE_IS_THREADED = True
VIDEO_CAPTURE_INFO_SEND_RATE = 20
VIDEO_CAPTURE_MAX_FRAME_SIZE = 500000
VIDEO_CAPTURE_TTL = 255
MAX_POINT_LIGHTS = 250
MAX_SPOT_LIGHTS = 250
RS_MIN_OBJECT_PIXEL_RADIUS = 2.000000
MAX_TEXTURE_REQUEST_DISTANCE = 1000.000000
HDR_BRIGHTNESS = 1.000000
HDR_BLOOM_THRESHOLD = 10.500000
HDR_BLOOM_MAGNITUDE = 1.000000
HDR_BLOOM_BLUR_SIGMA = 0.800000
EXPOSURE_KEY = 0.180000
DAY_MAX_EXPOSURE = 2.500000
NIGHT_MAX_EXPOSURE = 2.500000
HDR_SATURATION = 1.000000
ADAPTATION_RATE_SCALAR = 0.050000
[WEATHER]
CLOUD_FACING_MODE = 0

If you want I can send you the dxdiag file or tell me what you need to analyze the problem.

Thanks
Andrew
