Question about the p3D multiplayer

Hi! I want to host a session so that my friends can join. The problem is, I set up the server, send my public IP address to him (got it from google "what is my ip address"). but it seems that he can't connect directly via IP Address to my session. It seems like P3D just eligible to host a LAN session, not an online session. Any help? Thank you
