5.2 perfect, 5.3 long pausing and stuttering is unflyable

Post by boeingp3d »

Hello my p3d 5.2 I could fly for days without shutting the sim off. In multiple addon airplanes and a lot of scenery. Many v5 updates and nothing is as bad as now in 5.3. It is not flyable. At random with EA on or off. Not high slider settings. Some times in the middle of a long haul or right after departure. The sim will pause for 30 seconds and start to stutter with 1fps. How can I diagnose this it was fine in p3d 5.2 thank you!

for sliders I have 0% AI traffic, 0% boats and road traffic and autogen radius medium with sparse or normal for vegetation and buildings. Dynamic vegetation off, and same for other settings very low and previous p3d version were great! Please help.

I Have the exactly same problem. My first flight with the FSLabs A320 was smooth with light stutters and the next day Same Plane its not flyable because the heavy stutters and pauses.

Your system is certainly powerful enough, more powerful than mine.

Where are you getting those frame rates, and what add-ons could be in play at that/those locations?

Over London, I only have ORBX Base, ORBX LC Europe, and ORBX England as ground textures. They were all fine when on the ground at Heathrow, infact, with Aerosoft Heathrow Professional it was better than 5.2 - I got like 40-60 FPS....but now I've departed its completely unusable

I haven't tried flying there yet, but then again I have UK2000 sceneries in that area, and no ORBX.

Have you checked the ORBX user forums?

I'm having similar issues in a different part of the world with no ORBX involved.

@ zdvet ,

Having more than one problem with P3Dv5.3, correct?

Maybe Uninstall all Add-ons and get a default full install of P3Dv5.3 and test it.

Add Add-ons when done testing .

Update uninstalled all Orbx regions I own and that could have caused the issue. I will contact Orbx if my other flights are successful after this first one was.

Hi

I had huge FPS issues with SODE installed. After uninstalling i have good fps again.
I do sometimes experince some "pauses" for almost a second during crz.

Over at AVSIM there is a discussion about road traffic producing long frames and FPS drops since 5.3 update.

As far as my rig is concerned I can confirm that my FPS drop from approx. 45FPS with road traffic off to approx. 25FPS with road traffic on at 7%. This is in my standard LAX area test scenario. I can however reproduce the detrimental effect of any road traffic percentage in any other scenario.

Hope this helps pointing in the right direction...

@Vaughan,

thank you. So this phenomenon is already well known. Hoping for some Hotfix soon.

Cheers Martin

My sliders are 0% all traffic including roads. Could my issue be the large number of objects in Orbx regions and possibly not compatible with the new PBR autogen textures? Just guessing....
