P3D 5.2 multiple issues after install

Post by cosnowboarder_777 »

Just updated to 5.2 and am now having multiple issues. First started with the crash due to:

Faulting application name: Prepar3D.exe, version: 5.2.18.27565, time stamp: 0x60befcbd
Faulting module name: mso20win32client.dll, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x60bacc1c
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x00000000000484e1
Faulting process id: 0x1e6c
Faulting application start time: 0x01d762008af1524a
Faulting application path: C:\P3D V5\Prepar3D.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Office16\mso20win32client.dll
Report Id: a688d522-0ba4-45e8-8a3d-8e04a1ba54e5
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:

Followed the recommended steps of upgrading to latest accessengine database. (x64) and deleting the 2010 version. Now I am having the issue with P3D running in the background again. Have tried the various suggestions with no luck.

mso20win32client.dll

From MS Office.
Which version do you have?

"Now I am having the issue with P3D running in the background again."
When did you first have the problem?

Note:
Best to have a new post for a new problem.

I had the background issue a long time back. Can't remember what I did to fix it unfortunately. I have office 2016.

No, once I updated the access engine and got rid of the old one, the error went away but it never gets to the start up menu, just goes to running in the background process. (There is a brief flash of building the database for new scenery files) Prior to that, before the access engine update, it would get to the start screen and then crash when I tried to load a new flight, including the default one.

The General Debugging Steps are here for your review.

See if this applies to you:
Are you using LatinVFR's KFLL? If so,uninstall and update to v1.2.

Guess I didn't have KFLL uninstalled, but still did not fix the issue. Will try the debugging and report back.

Finally was able to fix the issue. For me, I needed to reinstall access engine 2010.
