Hi everyone. I recently upgraded from a 1060 6GB to a 6800XT. Went through the standard DDU process, deleted P3D.cfg and cleared shader cache. To my surprise my fps were about 15-20% worse than with my 1060. Rest of specs are R7 3800X, 32GB 3200 RAM, P3D installed to SSD.
The strange thing is, maxing out settings, changing resolution, playing with hardware overclock seems to have no negative effect on performance with the exception of two sliders. There's a very minimal fps hit when maxing out autogen building density. However, when increasing scenery complexity, the fps tank by about 50% on average.
Performance gains over the 1060 in other titles I've tried are as expected (MSFS for example has seen massive performance improvement). I understand P3D works a bit differently and is heavily cpu bound, but I'm still way underperforming the same configuration just with a newer gpu and not experiencing this sort of thing with any other programs.
Are there any known issues with the newer AMD cards/drivers and their compatibility with P3D 4.5? Anyone ever encountered an issue like this where scenery ?

Did you deactivate the P3D client before swapping cards, and reactivate afterwards?

Re: P3D 4.5 poor performance 6800XT
I did deactivate before running DDU, and reactivated after install of the card and installation of the new gpu drivers and restart was complete. The card and drivers were the only changes made to the system, and the only change made to P3D was the deactivate/activate process. I wouldn't be surprised if it was an AMD driver compatibility issue, but I was wondering if anyone had actually experienced this behavior before with scenery complexity being the only setting that has a negative effect on performance on a fairly robust rig. As I said, my performance with the 1060 6GB on this setup was overall excellent.

Ah you did the replacement process correctly, I was worried about that.
I have seen reports of some issues with the 6800XT, but as I recall those were compatibility/driver issues, not performance issues.
