What specific latest version? This issue should be gone, if you have Windows 10 v. 2004 and the latest AMD driver.

The bug here is DX12, to be taken care of by Microsoft, v. 2004 is part of that.

Anyway I am stuck on 1909 for the moment - 2004 is not yet available for my PC. I shall wait.

The OP’s reported problem is:
“Prepar3dV causes my RX590 graphics card to hang when selecting poor weather conditions such as heavy rain or snow.

!. Where did you get the information that the OP’s problem is a bugged DX12 ?

2. Where did you get the information that that DX12 bug would be fixed by Microsoft?

Read all the threads in this whole forum, condense all the information, on the basis of that form your opinion of what is going on, present same. Done all the time in tech support.

This is why I did not find the information.

That is why I asked for a link to the where you got the information.

I now have the Win 10 2004 update, the latest AMD driver and it still CTD as soon as I select "Heavy Snows", "Grey and Rainy", "Major Thunderstorm" - but only when using 'Enhanced Atmospherics'. Turn that off and it's fine. Guess I'll have to wait for it to move out of beta.
