DXGI_ERROR_DRIVER_INTERNAL_ERROR on P3DV5H2

Post by Wraith »

Hi there,
I recently installed the last hotfix 2 for p3dv5.
In game, I have about 40fps in liner in the biggest sceneries.
Then my game crash and Google also... while only a half of my vram is used.See the pictures below.
My drivers are updated and the max usage of ram is 75%
I don't understand, I had no issue with p3dv4.
Thanks you.

My config :

-Windows 10
-I7-8750h
-Gtx 1070 max-q 8go vram
-16go ram

I play on laptop.

The problem is here:

I7-8750H

That processor runs at a base clock rate of 2.2 GHz, well below the P3D minimum required of 3.0 GHz.

It will only run in turbo mode for a limited period of time, until the cooling and/or electrical limits are reached. Then it will go back to 2.2 GHz.

The minimum requirement refers to a constant (base) clock rate that can be maintained, or minimum clock rate if you will.

It is not nice to have to tell people that the system they spent good money for cannot run P3D. But that is the way it is.

Ok are you sure this is the only reason ?
I thought it was about a graphic card issue ?

Hello,
I am glad that i am not the only one. After many times trying i had the same error. Very disappointing.
Back to P3Dv4 and wait until the problem is solved.

The problem is that the minimum processor clock rate required for v. 5 is 3.0 GHz.

The "minimum processor clock rate" is the minimum sustained clock rate that the processor is capable of running at.

Can you imagine the performance fluctuations happening with varying processor clock rates? I don't think you would like the end results.

A processor running at less than 3.0 GHz may or may not be able to run v. 5, but the results will at best be "unpredictable", and performance will always be horrible.

The system requirements are there for a reason.

Having the event log after the DXGI Device hung would help to understand why you guys are experiencing this particular issue.

SunnyFM,

Yes, your system fulfills the minimum requirements.

What is your Windows 10 version, and what is your nVidia driver version?

Do you have any add-ons installed, and if so, which?

Hello Jorgen,

Thanks for the quick reply. I have windows 10 64 bit version 1909 and 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (MSI), driver version 445.87 and the latest drivers.

Addon: Flytampa EHAM
FS Global Ultimate 2020
ORBX
ENVTEX
Active Sky
LPPD2019
TNCA2017 (Tropicalsim)
TNCC2017 (Tropicalsim)
NL2000 scenery
Qualitysim 787

With prepar3d v4 I have many, many add-ons. It works fine without any errors.

I hope i could help you a bit to figure out what cause this problem

First of all, try to run Windows Update and see if you can get the Feature update to version 2004.

That update had fixes for DX12, which you will need.

After that, update your nVidia drivers to the latest version, which is 451.48 - also for DX12 fixes.

When you have done these updates, check to see if the error persists.

If it does, then you need to know that Active Sky is still in beta for P3D v. 5, check if you have the latest beta version of Active Sky. ORBX has also been known to have some issues, as does the QW 787. I am not sure about your other add-ons, try to check with their manufacturers if there are patches or fixes.

Since your processor is relatively slow, you also cannot expect to be able to push the sliders very far towards the right - 3.0 or 3.1 GHz is just barely the minimum required. But it should run....
