Hi there everyone, please I need your help in order to start using Prepar 3D 5.3 and VR in my school here in Mexico. We plan on using this simulation software on a PC with Oculus Quest 2 but:
1.- I need to know standard windows requirements for it to work well without spending all of my budget on the PCs.
2.- Which Yoke, pedals, and throttles do you recommend?
3.- While using Prepar 3D 5.3 on VR could I use the Oculus controls to substitute the mouse? Or, do I have to use the mouse exclusively?
Thank you in advance, any help on these matters would be greatly appreciated.
Hardware and VR questions
Re: Hardware and VR questions
With VR I am afraid you'll have to spend a lot of your budget on the PCs!!!
I do not have VR myself, but what I have seen here in the threads over time is that VR requires a lot of extra horsepower, compared to a PC for P3D without VR. And a PC for P3D without VR requires a lot of horsepower as it is already.
Perhaps a VR user or two could come up and tell you how their PCs are configured, and how they like VR on them?

Hi Jorgen,
Thank you, hopefully a VR user will answer.

As for joystick etc. I use the Thrustmaster HOTAS-X, with the rudder bar on the front of the throttle, not what you are looking for with pedals.

Re: Hardware and VR questions
Thanks again,
The thing is that we will use the Beechcraft King Air 350i for the lessons, so we need a yoke, pedals and throttles.
Axel.

Re: Hardware and VR questions
Interesting - I have been looking for a 350I for P3D v. 5.3, where did you find that one?
