Hot CPU temps
Re: Hot CPU temps
@ MatthijsRoothans ,
Mine is in the Advanced CPU Core section.
Just to verify:
Have you made changes to your BIOS settings since the IT specialist build your pc ?
Made any changed to the System Registry "tweeks"?
Changes "tweeks" to any P3D default files?

yes i did:
-I turned boost peformance mode to Turbo peformance
-I disabled Intel(R) Speedstep(tm)
-I disabled Intel(R) Speed Shift Technology
-I enabled turbo mode
Made any changed to the System Registry "tweeks"?
No
Changes "tweeks" to any P3D default files?
I changed in the p3d config file UIHardwareAcceleration to false (for the reshade)
Does your Motherboard BIOS have a Power Limit TDP setting / Options?
I haven't seen/found this option in the BIOS

Ok,
You know your current settings / changes.
What do you think about selecting return BIOS to Factory Defaults and doing a test?

Re: Hot CPU temps
Okay so i just returned BIOS to Factory Default, still the same issue. Nothing changed, still hitting 95 degrees :/ It only happens when im airborne, from the moment i pass 4000 feet i start getting temp issues. On the ground everything works perfectly.

Re: Hot CPU temps
Okay did some more testing, till now the only solution i found is to turn off the tubobooster. Temps are than fine but the peformance is horrible, i had 15 fps while using a system that costs around 1800 euro....
Are you flying the default P3D aircraft?
Yep, using the default planes, i also use the pmdg and fslabs to test. All planes have the same issue.
Using a weather program?
Yep! Im using active sky for p3d
Anything else?
Yep! Im also using: Chaseplane, Volanta and Flychrono

Re: Hot CPU temps
Alrighty, I think i finnaly got it. Since air flow might be the issue, I decided to test it out today. I removed the glass panel and started testing. And yes! Finally i got some positive news, temps decreased alot to around 65-70 degrees! So my guess goes out that the cpu cooling isnt good enough. I was trying to avoid spending any money but I guess i dont have any other option left. So I will install some water cooling equipment.
Everyone, thanks alot of helping me out! It is appreciated alot!!!

Re: Hot CPU temps
You could also try to add more case fans first. A general rule of thumb is to have each exhaust fan paired up with one intake fan. For my particular case I have 6, 3 intake and 3 exhaust. Or you could do both, water cooling and additional case fans.MatthijsRoothans wrote: ↑Mon Nov 29, 2021 5:23 pm Alrighty, I think i finnaly got it. I've also seen extreme measures where folks direct room air conditioning directly into their case. Condensation may become an issue with that though.

Re: Hot CPU temps
Yeah I dont have more place for fans :/. I will install a water cooler, I was thinking of the NZXT kraken X63.
Re: Hot CPU temps
Just make sure that all the fans you have or get are pulling/pushing air in the same direction in the case. If just one us turned the wrong way around you could have an issue.

Re: Hot CPU temps
Yeah i already checked that, the air flow is just really bad in my case. I also saw on the internet that my case actually is designed for water cooling.
