ATC Sound

In P3Dv5.3 when atc starts talking the volume on other sounds gets considerably lower. When atc finishes it sometimes takes several seconds for the sounds to come back up. Is this a typical problem with P3D5? Would it help the problem if I use a separate sound system for atc. I'm using a Sound Blaster Audigy FX PCIe 5.1 but I also have on board sound. I also have P3Dv5.3 on a second computer using Wideview for the side views. Is there a way to use that system for atc and the primary computer for the rest? Does Wideview share the flight plan between computers?
