[RESOLVED] AI Traffic Refresh

Post by clearjet »

Is there a tunable parameter that would allow the AI traffic to refresh less often?

I like a lot of traffic so I have the sliders on full. Every time the "Loading Air, Sea and land traffic..." pop-up appears, it completely wipes out all of the existing traffic. As an example, I could be at KDEN behind four a/c at the departure end of the runway, I get the pop-up and BAM! they are all gone.

It seems to refresh randomly and sometimes three or four times with a 5 minute period, even when I am stationary at a gate.

If not tunable, can it be less intrusive?

Thanks,
Donnie Sigrist

Hi Donnie,

Are you using any traffic add-ons or is this with a clean install?

It started with a clean install back in April after a PC build and has remained the same after installing Traffic Global about a month ago.

Did you uninstall all other AI traffic first?

Again, the first part of my comment was "It started with a clean install back in April after a PC build".

There was no change after adding Traffic Global, which only updates the liveries for the stock AI traffic.

Allow me a quote:

"which only updates the liveries for the stock AI traffic"

Then read this:

https://www.justflight.com/product/traf ... al-p3d-fsx

which leads me to believe it is a little bit more that that.

The how would you explain the fact that it began with the clean install and no addons?

Because in the "clean install" of P3D, you actually install some AI by default!

After a clean install, look at the end of Scenery\World\Scenery for 3 AI traffic files.

I am failing to see the relevance of your comments.

If I build a new PC, install the P3D product AS IS, why would I need to care about how the program installs the default AI Traffic? None of that changes the fact that the problem exists (at least for me) and has existed since initial installation.

My comment about Traffic Global, which was installed months after the P3D install, had no effect, good or bad, on the issue at hand.
