P3D crashes multiple times

Post by MBErdogan »

Hello,

I have bought P3D v5 a year ago, one month ago I bought many addons and installed them: GSX level 2, active sky, Navigraph, rex sky force 5, ORBX, Chaseplane, FlyTampa Amsterdam. Since then the simulator crashes at different times in the flight, so I restart the simulator again and start over. Today for example I flow a flight without any crashes in the begining, but after I had landed the simulator crashed again. This is was what Event Viewer stated about this particular crash:

This line with the exception code from Event Viewer:

Exception code: 0xc0000005

says that Windows has detected that "something" is trying to write to an area of RAM where it has no access rights.

This "something" is most likely a badly programmed or incompatible add-on.

So it has nothing to do with couatl64? I ran cmd and typed in 'sfc /scannow'. It said it found corrupted files and replaced them, will this fix the problem?
Can the cause of the crash also be related to my nvidia driver version?

I also now clicked on 'Check encoding' in a program called 'Addon Organizer for P3D'. It said the following:

''The following files have an incorrect character encoding:
D:\Prepar3D\FlyTampa\Libraries\add-on.xml
C:\Users\mberd\OneDrive OZHW\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\Navigraph Simlink\add-on.xml
C:\Users\mberd\OneDrive OZHW\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\ActiveSkyP5\add-on.xml
C:\Users\mberd\OneDrive OZHW\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\FSUIPC6\add-on.xml
C:\Users\mberd\OneDrive OZHW\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\FsDreamTeam Addon Manager\add-on.xml
C:\Program Files (x86)\12bPilot\SODE\P3DV5\add-on.xml
D:\ORBX Library\p3dv5\Orbx ObjectFlow\add-on.xml''

Can this have to do anything with the crashes? If so, how to fix?

Have you edited any .xml files yourself?

If you did that and used a word processor or even a text editor like Notepad, then the encoding would be incorrect.

For editing .xml files you need a special editor like Notepad++.

No, if I’m correct I didn’t change any .xml files myself. But what should I type/change in the xml file to make it correct. I don’t understand computer language

If the add-on organizer is Lorby's, then I suggest you send Lorby a message asking why his organizer says there is an error in the encoding when you haven't edited the files yourself.

I would also try to reinstall SODE to see if the encoding error then goes away.
