[RESOLVED] GPU GTX750Ti crash
[RESOLVED] GPU GTX750Ti crash
Hi all,
I've installed P3DV4.3. After the selection of plane, airport... ecc, when simulation starts I see a scrambled image for few seconds, then the simulator crashes with: "DXGI_ERROR DEVICE_HUNG" or sometime "DXGI_ERROR DEVICE_RESET". I've also tried the V4.4 but the issue remains the same.
My system is:
i5-2500, 8GB ram, GPU GTX750Ti, Windows 7 64bit SP1
I've tried: Upgrade the GPU driver, unplug the joystik, change graphic setup and see various forum topics without solve the problem.
With FSX the GPU works fine.
Thanks in advance
Stefano

Hello Stefano
Welcome to the Prepar3D Forum.
I understand you have updated your graphics driver but maybe try DDU (Driver Display Uninstaller) to cleanly remove your previous driver and then reinstall your graphics driver again.
Please see this topic below for more Information

Re: GPU GTX750Ti crash
Thank you for answer and suggestions. I attempted further two versions of GPU driver after I did uninstallation with the DDU software, but the issue is still present :-(

Hello Stefano
Can you list the Add Ons you have currently Installed ?
Have you tried rolling back a couple of drivers and then testing Prepar3D ?
Have you manually overclocked your GPU ? If so return these values to default again and test. Also ensure your GPU is not overheating, Check vents, fans and so on
Try this small step, Regenerate the Prepar3D.cfg file and the Shaders folder, Follow This Link for more Information, Then launch Prepar3D and test.
There is a long running topic below with additional steps you can try

Re: GPU GTX750Ti crash
I bought it recently and P3D is pure without addons. Until now I have tried three different drivers with DDU. I will do other tests on the weekend.

Re: GPU GTX750Ti crash
After trying 4 versions of driver without fix the problem, I tried to mont an "old" Radeon 6670, less performing of the GTX750ti. Well, P3D v4.4 now works! Is it a hardware problem of my GTX750ti, which is highlighted only with P3Dv4 and not with FSX?

And this helps the topic starter what exactly?...
@Stefano: do you by chance use the frame limiter of the nvidia inspector tool? In my case, the DXGI crashes were due to this frame limiter in use, since I stopped using it, never had any DXGI error anymore...

Re: GPU GTX750Ti crash
I have the same problem developed recently after years of use. I have two GTX970 cards and I get two error windows up so both cards are affected which to me means not a faulty card. Notice the same issue is reported on other gaming sites ( e.g. Crysis) so not likely to be confined to P3D.
I have tried older drivers with no success. Frame limiter not in use.
I wonder if it something to do with Windows 10 updates.

Also check cooling of your computer. Sometimes filters get slammed with dust and the GPU gets too hot because of that.

Re: GPU GTX750Ti crash
Thank you for answer, but my GTX750ti never works with P3D. When a flight starts, I see a "paint of modern art" for one second then it crashes. Only the main start up page works.Blaunarwal wrote: ↑Mon Jan 21, 2019 12:33 pm Also check cooling of your computer. Sometimes filters get slammed with dust and the GPU gets too hot because of that.

Re: GPU GTX750Ti crash
Ah ok, then it could be the shaders. Delete them and try again.stef63 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 12:17 pmThank you for answer, but my GTX750ti never works with P3D. Re: GPU GTX750Ti crash
Hi,
I have a 750ti as well and have experienced the same issues. As everyone said your driver will be causing the issues most likely.
Can you please check what driver you have installed. If it is the 417.71 driver (latest one from NVIDIA) I have found this to be an extremely buggy driver for prepar3D. My suggestion is that you uninstall that driver and install the 417.35 driver from NVIDIAs website. I haven’t had a single problem with it and P3D.
Id also suggest deleting shaders and possibly running the delete generated files application in the prepar3D root folder. Note this will reset your P3D config and also your controls and calibrations so make a backup of the P3D cfg file and also export your controls via the export button in P3D
Thanks,
Nightstrider101.

Re: GPU GTX750Ti crash
Thank you! I had troubles to install the 417.71 At the moment I've tried: 335:23, 347:09, 378.49 after uninstallation with DDU utility and deleting the folder shaders. I'll try the 417:35 thank you.Nightstrider101 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 23, 2019 9:48 pm Hi,
