Question regarding UTX and GEX and P3D5.3
Question regarding UTX and GEX and P3D5.3
I have tried MSFS for two years and I keep coming back to P3d. I currently have 4.5 and since I have GEX and UTX for mesh, would those apps work with 5.3, or could I eliminate them and the mesh would be close to what I have now?

Re: Question regarding UTX and GEX and P3D5.3
Hello gets ,
Always best to ask your Add-on developers before any purchases.
Also, in case you do not already know, you could try P3Dv5 for two weeks and get a refund if it does not work out on your system.
The P3D system requirements are here for review:

Re: Question regarding UTX and GEX and P3D5.3
I don't know about GEX, but I have UTX and it works in P3D v. 5.3 HF2.
For mesh, you could also look into FreeMesh, which I also have, and that works just fine also.

Re: Question regarding UTX and GEX and P3D5.3
Whilst UTX “works” with P3D v5 it isn’t needed any more. The worldwide improvement in ground textures, coastlines, lakes, roads etc. means UTX has older data than v5.
I uninstalled all three of my UTX addons some time ago.

Re: Question regarding UTX and GEX and P3D5.3
Jorgen, some months ago I took two screenshots of the area around Liverpool airport (EGGP) with and without UTX Europe active.
There was no noticeable difference and on closer inspection the default P3Dv5 scenery was the slightly more accurate when compared to Google Earth.
LM really should blow their own trumpet more often when they make such fundamental improvements to the base scenery. The only 3rd party addons I Use are FTX Global (ground is greener than default) and FS Global (greatly enhanced mesh).

I would very much like to see those, if yo still have them, even though I use the UK2000 airports.
If you do, then I can send you my email address in PM.

Re: Question regarding UTX and GEX and P3D5.3
I started a topic on AvSim with comparative screenshots including one from P3Dv3.
Make your own mind up. 😁

I'll have a look there, on a good day I might be able to figure that out without hurting myself too much.

I had a look, and I believe I am still alive.
So, did you end up uninstalling UTX permanently?

Re: Question regarding UTX and GEX and P3D5.3
🤣 For v5, yes. It remains active for v3. Yes, I still use that purely for FS Labs Concorde.

Re: Question regarding UTX and GEX and P3D5.3
I only have v. 5 now, used to have FSX and P3D v. 4.5 also.
I will have to do a little testing.
Thanks for the tip -
