C130 Does not Track GPS
None of the C130 variants recognize the GPS. This problem was reported about CG C130 but I find that non of the C130 variants recognize the GPS. Is there a solution to this problem out there. I'm running P3Dv5 Professional. Thanks in advance for assistance or a statement that the C130 GPS is OTS, doesn't work in P3d.

@ Osprey_V22,

Re: C130 Does not Track GPS
I will try and find source of Coast Guard C130 post but in the mean time can you help with my problem, none of my C130's connects to AP GPS function. The AP GPS MODE/SEL function is there, as are VOR/ILS1 and VOR/ILS 2 and FLT DIR, AUTO PILOT/NORMAL and HEADING. Everything works except GPS.
My full Version No.: 5.2.22.276.27615.
Are all your GPS functions working with the C130's?

ATTN: MARTYSON.
I located the Cost Guard C130 Post: It looks like they started in September 2019. You replied to one on 17 Sep 2019. The Topic is "USCG C130 GPS posted by tdumontelle. There are several back and forths between you and tdumontelle.
I guess the basic question is: should the GPS function work, track a route, a route in the flight plan? Mine does not and evidently tdumontelle had/has the same problem. I don't see a resolution posted? Thanks for your help. Hope you see my version info in earlier post today.

Re: C130 Does not Track GPS
@ Osprey_V22,
The C130 GPS should work.
I cannot recall any changes to the C130 and no other pilots are reporting problems.
What is your GPS route ?
Can you do screenshots or a video showing your GPS panel setup that is not working?

Re: C130 Does not Track GPS
I'll confirm. The GPS DOES NOT WORK. It will not track a flight plan, nor will it track a direct route. I've tested the AC-130, C-130J, HC-130, and the KC-130, none of them will track the GPS.

I think you know what the first response is going to be - update to the latest and greatest version, v. 5.3 HF2.

Hello bilbao131 ,
Can you do screenshots or a video showing your GPS panel setup that is not working?
Is your flight plan created by the P3D flight planner?

@ JorgenSA,
(Tongue in cheek) yea... my apologies. I've been focused on other projects and recently jumped back into the C-130. I will have some screen shots posted shortly.

Re: C130 Does not Track GPS
Yep, I know well how "other projects" can work! ;-)
But, do upgrade to 5.3 HF2.
You only need to uninstall your present client, and then download and install the one from the download site.

Re: C130 Does not Track GPS
@JorgenSA,
I see what you mean that I do not have the most current version. When I log into my P3D account, I have the 5.3.17.28160 version available. Is this the same as v5.3, HF2 that you are referring to?

@Martyson,
In 2D panel with GPS selected: airplane drifts and ends up doing a complete 360 degree turn. You can see on the GPS that I am well right of the lubber line and the HSI needle is not deflecting.

Re: C130 Does not Track GPS
Hello bilbao131 ,
I do not know where you are in your route.
Your 360 turn could be back looking for the first waypoint (e.g. the departure airport) to pick up the first full route segment.
Try this:
Nav 1 tuned to any nearby VOR so you can watch HSI/VOR working initially.
Takeoff, Gear up, hand fly toward second waypoint (first WP being the departure airport).
When on track (Garmin) dial current HDG, A/P ON, HDG mode.
HSI will be still be looking at VOR / NAV1 (selected).
E.G., 3000 agl ALT Hold On.
Approaching second WP Mode selector to GPS.
HSI should now track GPS.
