Error Message AMD Radeon and DirectX12

Post by Braytoncycle »

“This device (AMD Radeon R9 A375) does not support all required DirectX12 features. P3D can attempt to use this device, but it may not work”

Then:

“This device (AMD Radeon…) stopped working for the following reason: DXGI_ERROR_DRIVER_INTERNAL_ERROR. Do you want to exit P3D?”

Even if i say No to exit, it crashes on loading.

Any help?

I have DirectX12 installed.

Thanks in advance.

Since this version of P3D uses DX12, it must be a v. 5 of some sorts.

You will need to upgrade this to the latest, that is v. 5.2 HF1.

Edit: I forgot that DX12 actually comes with Windows, so to make sure you have the latest DX12, you'll need to make sure that your Windows installation is fully updated also.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I just purchased the latest version and therefore includes HF1. The version downloaded is P3D v5.2 HF1.

Any way to get P3D V5.2 to work? Close to requesting a refund and revert back to FSX which is a shame because I was looking forward to changing over to P3D.

Have reinstalled and still have the same issues regarding my AMD Radeon card not working.

It works fine on my system with a nVidia card, but I have seen posts from AMD owners that it also works on their systems.

Make sure that when you run Windows Update, that - under "Advanced options" in Update - the switch that is called "Receive updates for other Microsoft products" is set to On. Then try to run Update again. Also make sure you have the latest AMD driver, and if still problems check the AMD site to see if there is anything in the AMD settings you will need to apply.

the problem is your video card does not fully support dx12

"Even though it supports DirectX 12, the feature level is only 11_1, which can be problematic with newer DirectX 12 titles"

Definitely worth a question to AMD to see if anything can be done here.
