Re: Shift-Z working, but freezes
I can confirm this issue too!
Either using shft + Z repeatedly or use the simm connect window to interface with GSX and SODE for instance is associated with a massive lag, followed by a freeze and a massive FPS hit. Whenever you have visible text on your screen (including menu bar) it lags and when you take it away, nothing is wrong, until my sim connect window complete froze.
I have updated client, content and scenery.

Try to minimize and maximize p3d. It worked with my tests

Re: Shift-Z working, but freezes
I went outside the cockpit and wasnt able to get back inside. Then when I tried the menue it was frozen after 3 hrs into a flight I had to alt/ctl/del
Re: Shift-Z working, but freezes
@ jmerck350 ,
That is true.
I did a test and did not have your problem.
As I previously asked:
When are you pausing your flight ?
Are you e.g. pausing to go to the internet to look up information?
Possibly I could test the same failure situation you are reporting?

Re: Shift-Z working, but freezes
No, the freeze occurs with me just trying to select the shift+z text on the top left or hitting pause (without browsing the web). I am not leaving the simulator window.
Re: Shift-Z working, but freezes
@ jmerck350 ,
Did you do a full P3Dv5.2 install?
Did you see this?
Install the Content to fix the Shift - Z problem or apply the work-a-round fix reported in the forum by Rob (LM Staff) here:

You have IMO a problem with the full (re)install.

P3Dv5.2 - Shift-Z - Changing Font, Color and Shading
P3D V5.2 - Shift-Z - Color ----- disregard, I see this color and size isue can be changed in the the new "information.HTML" file
5.2 looks good and runs fine for me. My question is about the ability to change the Color of the Shift-Z data
There is an article on Flightsim as to changing the makeup and color of the frame data shown in the upper right, lower left and the Shift-Z
I have been using the change color feature in P3D v1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.1 to give a yellow text over a shightly shaded background as it seems to show up better (for me) than just the stock white. The 'example 1' data below, as to how to do that is from Flightsim and I'm not the author.
Now with the install of P3Dv5.2 (uninstall and reinstall of the client and content with reboot in between) the ability to change the color no longer seems to function and the Font appears larger, and is white with a black wite frame aroung each letter.
Is there a workaround to allow the ability to alter the color and shading of the text as in the previous versions of P3D?
Example 1: quoted From Flightsim.com ......
In this example I coded all text as yellow with a 25% shadow for clarity for reading the text in various flying background lighting.

Re: Shift-Z working, but freezes
Yes, it seems so. I just landed while in fullscreen (have disable full screen optimizations checked) and even tapping on my hardware brakes causes the shift+z menu to want to appear and then the sim is freezing up. I did a full reinstall, not just one or two components.Rob McCarthy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 7:24 pm Do you know what steps caused the info text and simconnect menu to freeze?
With the context menu lagging does this only occur if the menu bar is hidden?

Re: Shift-Z working, but freezes
Seeing this as well and I did a full reinstall.MediocreGorilla wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 5:26 pm Five minutes into my first flight I can already confirm my biggest fear:
The shift + z overlay is stuck at static values of the first set, toggling through the different sets doesn't change the values at all:
Also the simconnect menu ist stuck in this state:
I really enjoy 5.2, you did a great job on this release, but I think I'm not exaggerating when I say this is quite a big issue.

@ B777ER ,
Eric,
Which Simconnect Menu is it (which program)?
