V5 keeps crashing - PMDG

I have the add on PMDG 737-800 NGXu. very often when I select the inboard screens P3D freezes and stops operating resulting going back to my desktop.

This also happens randomly when I have pressed a few buttons simultaneously causing the game to freeze and crash to my desktop.

It is getting quite annoying after taking time programming the fmc.

is there a way to fix this?

I also have the PMDG 737-800 NGXu for P3Dv4.5 HF3 and P3Dv5HF2.
No problems to report.

Does your P3Dv5 default flight (F35A at KRND) load and fly without problems?

Have you contacted PMDG support about your (737-800 NGXu) problem with your PC setup?

yes p3dv5 default flight is exactly that and no problems. it all runs well until I select the items which I stated.

I shall try PMDG for support also and see what they say.

have you checked your VRAM usage? I had some CTDs with the TFDi 717 because of VRAM, after reducing the VRAM usage (disabled EA and some other stuff) it is working again.

Many Developers have just ported theier addons without optimizing it for DX12, thats often the cause for the high VRAM usage....

There is an issue it seems with PMDG aircraft. I've seen crashes with the 747 and the cause was stack overflow.

I figured out how to fix this. The issue is with windows. Check to see if you have the Windows 10 2004 update. This update addresses Vram DX12 issues. I installed this update and P3D V5 no longer crashes with that error.

I think it is important to say that if you have issues with P3D v. 5, 3 things are important:

1. Get updated to P3D HF2 if you aren't there already,

2. Update your Windows to v. 2004, and

3. Get the latest drivers for your graphics card.

After that comes

4. Check your add-on manufacturer's/developer's websites for updates to your add-ons.
