After writing UTF-8 into the file, you have to choose "save as" from the file menu (I assume you are using the standard Windows notepad), then use the bottom right button to specify a format different from the default, choosing UTF-8 instead of ANSI or Unicode.

Can you please elaborate this a bit? What format should I use in "save as" because I can't see any?

Click file, save as, at bottom of screen open encoding, click utf-8 and save.

Did not notice any difference myself, but everything is worth a try,

Ok, thanks for the hint about saving the file. I did the utf-8 and tried my standard tests. Autogen seems to be as before with utf-16 but no improvement in FPS or stuttering at all. I've to say that I've very little stutters so it may be no improvement for me. I went back to the original utf-16 file.
