Hello everyone,

We have a fix for sync issues identified on Windows Mixed Reality headsets. Installing this patch follows the same process as the previously released VR hot fix patch. This includes all fixes in the previous VR patch and can replace the previous fix. Detailed installation instructions are included in a readme file as well as in this post.

http://cloud.prepar3d.com/VRHotFix2.zip

Replacing an existing VRHotFix:
1) Simply replace your Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\VRHotFix folder with this one
As long as you completed the install steps with the previous patch,
the add-on should already be enabled, and default P3D VR should already be disabled.
2) If there are issues, try going through the complete install steps.

What's new – SteamVR Sync Modes for WindowsMR support:
There are two sync modes to test in this build. We will add a UI option for the final Hot Fix.
For now, you can switch OnScreenDisplayMode to change between the two sync modes.
OnScreenDisplayMode: Double - Default mode, best performance. This is the same as the last patch.
OnScreenDisplayMode: Single - Lower latency mode (Required for Windows MR headsets).

To install this add-on:

1) Copy this folder "VRHotFix" into the "Prepar3D v5 Add-ons" folder in your Documents.
For example: C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons

2) This add-on will crash if the shipping VirtualReality add-on is not disabled.
To disable it, edit the Prepar3D.cfg as follows:
a) Browse to "%AppData%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5"
b) Open Prepar3D.cfg in a text editor such as Notepad
c) Find this entry under the [STARTUP] section:
LoadVirtualReality=1
d) Change it to:
LoadVirtualReality=0

3) Launch Prepar3D
4) You should get an alert box that says "Enable Add-on: "Virtual Reality HotFix"?"
5) Click "Yes"

To Disable this add-on and re-enable the default Virtual Reality dll:
1) In Prepar3D Menu, click Options->Add-ons
2) Uncheck the Virtual Reality Hotfix add-on
3) Shut-down Prepar3D. Follow the instructions in step 2 to modify the Prepar3D.cfg
a) Change LoadVirtualReality=0 back to LoadVirtualReality=1
