Yes, it will be a Microsoft issue IF, and only IF, it breaks every system on which it is installed.

Since it apparently does not (evidence in this thread), it is then your issue to troubleshoot. Take a look in your Event Viewer and post what the failing module name is. That way we can move forward and stop shifting blame.

Are you sure?

For example.
Have a quick look at this Windows update.
Not all P3D users reporting a problem with the update?

Yes, Vaughan, I mean exactly that.

I will also offer the opinionated opinion, that if, instead of whining, people would post what their problem really is (hint: Event Viewer), we could fix some of the issues.

But it was the Windows update in the link I posted that caused problems with some users, not all users?

For some users, yes, and at least one user has reported (in a different thread) that his problem was fixed by installing the DirectX Redistributables.

What are you talking about?
Which person and problem?

Or the link I posted?

Uninstall the update, it's as simple as that.

If you look at d3d9.dll in Windows\System32\ it will probably have a date 9/10/2019 on it. Uninstall KB4515384 and restart. Look again, the d3d9.dll will be dated 8/25/2019, should be fixed.

Doing this fixed it for me.

Interesting... my d3d9.dll is dated 9/1/2019 at 7:28 PM....

Anyway, if you Google "d3d9.dll error windows 10", the boiled-down recommendations are:

1. Install the DirectX Redistributables

2. Update you display driver

3. Clean up you registry.
