When I am making a long flight I often have to leave my computer unattended. Recently, after a fresh install of P3D V4.4, the latest PMDG 777 and 747, plus ORBX and Ultimate Traffic (all on a dedicated SSD), I often return to the computer (exact time lapse not really known) to find the sim "paused" with the message to "press P to resume." It unpauses just fine. Has anyone else observed this, and found the root cause?

No. I should have been clearer that these pauses occurred at cruise altitude and well before any TOD.
