Hi ,

update :

5.10 hours ago i departed from OMDB to YSSY on my main PC , 4.55 hours ago my son departed OMDB from the second PC , settings on both pc s are exactly the same , same addons , main pc is still flying , 2nd pc crashed after 4.55 , just after leaving Colombo fir ...

On the 2nd pc , the fmc and PFD clickspots were being used while doing the preflights , on the main pc the DU s are frequently used with no problems.

Maybe LM or PMDG can look into this , but for me i m reinstalling v2.5 on the second pc again and let my son enjoy his flights .

I have a 4790k and GTX 980 too, is it possible this problem is hardware related to the 980? It seems like pretty much everyone who has this issue has a 980.

For every one person with a GTX980 and problems, there are probably hundreds that have no problems. Both Gerard and I have changed video cards during testing effectively eliminating that as the source of the problem.

I tried to get v3.0 but Lockheed don't support older versions and apparently we arnt allowed to distribute their software.

Is there anyway we can fix the issue by looking at what has changed since v3.0 to v3.1? Apparently everything was fine on v3.0 but I don't have it installed as I bought P3D after v3.1 was released did a few 5 hour flights in the 737 with everything fine and dandy but when I tried to do KLAX to YSSY in the 777 thats when I stared experiencing these problems.

Chris, the ntdll error is probably not anything to do directly with P3D. This is a common error that can occur for many reasons and Google reveals many ways to go about isolating the source.

Most of the problems reported here have had to do with MSVCR120 errors and those started with version 3.0 when LM moved rendering from the CPU to the GPU.

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and new to P3D as well. In fact I bought a new PC two weeks ago in order to upgrade from FSX to Prepar3D.

My system in a nutshell is an I7 6700K @ 4.7 GHz, MSI Geforce GTZ 970 4 GB card, 16 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM, Windows 10 Home.

Unfortunately I also end up with CTDs quite often. My last two flights terminated with crash-to-desktop errors. The latest one happened without doing anything specific, I was about 4 hours into the flight from KATL to KSEA, cruising at FL380 in the Captain Sim L1011, preparing for my arrival, when all of a sudden the sim decided to crash. I did not touch anything, it just happened. And it was not the first time.

My settings are somewhat higher than medium, but not by any means maxed out.

I have the following addons installed:

ASN (latest build)
REX Soft Clouds (latest build)
EZDOK Camera (latest version)
FS Real Time
Captain Sim L1011 TriStar
ImagineSim KATL
Taxi2Gate KSEA

All other (payware) sceneries were deactivated as I only activate the ones I need for any given flight. Deactivated sceneries were: FSDreamTeam Hawaii vol. 2, Aerosoft Dublin, UK2000 Luton, Flytampa Montreal, Flytampa Vienna.

Other installed aircraft: Aerosoft Airbus A318/319/320/321 and Majestic Software Bombardier Q400 Pro.

That is it.

I find it very annoying that a significant amount of flights cannot be completed without crashing to desktop.

Kind regards,
Zsolt

Citing a CTD as an event provides no information because there are potentially innumerable reasons. Look at the event viewer or get AppCrashViewer and find the faulting module and exception code. From there you can start isolating the problem. Also, most would recommend you start with a clean installation, no addons, no overclocking and make sure that works as expected. Then add complexity looking for the issue to resolve.

Ran event viewer but unfortunately I found no log files to open.

Never had any CTD's with P3D . Not with all versions 2, nor with all versions 3..

I use ASN, REX, photoscenery, custom autogen, FTX Global , FTX OpenLC, UTX 2 EU , Fs Global Ultimate and cockpit soft- and hardware.
No PMDG aircraft, because I am using Prosim 737.

Flights I have made are up to 4 hours and I am enjoying P3D to the fullest.

I hope that you guys will find a solution for your issues.
