P3D5 HF2 issues with VR
Re: P3D5 HF2 issues with VR
There is a hint from RobPM that the flicker could be related to the green bar messages or other messages. This would perfectly fit because I have the issue mostly on ground ops within VR and sometimes in the air ....could be when the weather gets injected. I have the messages enabled.

I called it jitter in my post above......

Re: P3D5 HF2 issues with VR
I partially solved the problem by limiting the FPS to values of 30-45. I noticed that the error most often occurs when the GPU load is more than 86-90%. Now the error occurs less often. How do I: turn on VR in the game, then put on the helmet. I turn it off as follows: first I take off my helmet, then turn off the VR mode in the game.

Chris,
Can you post a screenshot of the floating behavior you're seeing?
I just had a baby so was in the hospital for a few days and then dying from lack of sleep since... Didn't see your message. However, trying this today, it seems the floating behavior has been fixed. Still need more time to try things out.
Thanks,
Chris

Re: P3D5 HF2 issues with VR
Testing further, I discovered that this floating behavior is only occurring with drzewiecki design's sceneries. Seeing it at JFK, DCA, and SEA. If I go to sceneries by other devs, it does not occur (ORD - FSDT, MIA - LatinVFR, etc.)

Re: P3D5 HF2 issues with VR
I see this too at KSEA and add FACT from FSDG to this. Also visbible floating.
Best visible in outside view between 45° Angle view at plane and ca 20 FT above Groundlevel it is like the plane is floating above groundlevel and some simobjects, like those from GSX (Pushback, Bagage loaders, etc), too are floating.
If your go down in view to groundlevel, it disappears.
It is like a invisible layer is "above" the visible surface.
Very strange effect.
This came with P3D V5.0 but I can not recall if before or after the HF 1 and 2. But it is definitely visible with P3D V5.1 with and without HF1.

More lights issues in the right eye. Weird lighting effects going on there, while the left eye shows full lighting.

Re: P3D5 HF2 issues with VR
Chris,
We have a sticky post here for instructions on posting screenshots:
https://prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 3&t=122277
We can reproduce the dynamic lighting issues and have a plan for how to fix it. It's a core engine change, so it will have to be implemented in a point release.
Thanks

Will this ever be fixed!? It's May now, a whole half a year has passed yet there is no word on the fix from LM... Is P3D dead?
Re: P3D5 HF2 issues with VR
I guess the lack of response answers my query.
Looks like we aren't getting any more fixes - time to move on?
