P3d V5 vs 2020

Post by verdas »

Is Prepar3d still relevant these days?

I just bit the bullet and upgraded my PC and moved to MSFS 2020 to be greeted with nonstop CTDs without error message. Gone through all the steps and info out there at resolving it but no luck.

Hoping SU8 can help me out but for the mean time is it worth getting p3d v5 to keep me ticking over? Let me know what you think

Always wary of starting a flame war, IMNSHO MSFS2020 is an arcade game.

If you want a real flight simulator, P3D is the way to go, IF your hardware is up for the task.

And yes, I know I am biased, no need to tell me that ;-)

MSFS has come a long way and its cool if you want to fly around and sightsee in a small aircraft. that's ok. IMHO P3d has more of a real immersion that I love. When I fly around in MSFS 2020 then comeback to P3d it feels much more immersive but, that's subjective. I do have thousands of dollars invested into P3d, the P3d that I have is not the one out of the box. Like Jorgen said it feels like a video game but it's fun. For a serious simmer its not there yet.. I think its nice to have several to choose from. I don't hate on any!!
