SimDirector Placement error

Post by bcars »

Using P3Dv5.2 with hotfix.
I place an object adjacent to a taxiway ( model that has a rwy number - eg 34L ) It renders in simdirector properly. However, when I next load P3D, and navigate to that position on the taxiway, the object is displaced several meters to one side. This happens for almost all objects placed on the airport surface.

Trying to determine if is related to curvature of earth in which case objects at the extreme edges of airport would be be offset. I have a flatten for the entire airport, but has no effect. The same objects placed on the same airport in P3DV4.5 works fine.

Still no answer...

Using P3DV5.2HF1

Start Simdirector ( with command line switch)
place an object with simdirector( taxiway marking) splits the taxiway centerline evenly on both sides.
I export the objects as sxml/bgl, exit simdirector.

Start P3D normally and navigate (slew) to the position on the airport. The taxiway marking is now offset to the left and no longer evenly spaced on either side of taxiway centerline. I thought this might be a curved earth issue, but placing a single object has same behavior. Placing Buildings or static aircraft seem ok, but they are not at the far end of the runways ( 16R/34L KSLC)

See screen shots. 1st image is of simdirector placement.
2nd image is result in p3d.
