ATIS as voice element of VOR (NAV audio) simulated ?

Post by KevinKaessmann »

Hi,

as https://www.skybrary.aero/index.php/Aut ... ice_(ATIS) states,
Voice ATIS may be transmitted on a dedicated VHF communications frequency or as the voice element of a navigational facility (e.g. VOR).
This seems to be true for Bergamo LIME:
https://skyvector.com/airport/LIME/Berg ... io-Airport
BERGAMO ATIS: 114.95
VOR BEG BERGAMO 114.95 262
So the pilot has to set NAV1/NAV2 and turn its audio on.
As far as I found, in FSX this wasn't simulated.

Question: will Prepar3D 4 onwards simulate ATIS on navaid frequency so one can listen the station report by NAV audio ?

I prepared the Bergamo LIME BGL : changed ground to ATIS 114.95 by hex editing.
It shows correctly in P3D V4.5 HF2 map but dialing it into NAV1 with NAV1 audio on just plays the morse code.
And in the ATC window, it isn't selectable either.

So ATIS over VOR seems an unhandled feature (btw. from the times of FS2004) :-((
