NDBs range

Post by lightwriter »

Hi guys!

I want to make an imitation of LORAN and Weatherships for flights across the Atlantic and Pacific oceans (Old props DC-6, L-049, B-337, B-314). I want it to be based on NDB-beacons. But I've a problem. Limited range of beacons. I need a range of up to 800 miles (for HFs and LORANs) and 200-250 miles for weatherships. I specify it in BGL (range="850.00N"), but in a test flight, the range of the beacon is limited at about 150 miles.

What to do?)

Thanks)

Hi, did you ever solve your range issue? I will have to investigate. Would you mind describing your test method?

How about using ADE (Airport Design Editor) to modify the reception distance?
