Postby Alox » Thu May 21, 2020 1:24 pm

I just want to report in v5 Hotfix ATC sound disappeared although the text of requests and answers is still visible.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Regards.

Doiuble post I know but no-one at L-M seems to be responding.

Same problem. Brand new P3D V5.

I have reinstalled sound, have checked all selections correct in-game. Aircraft engines etc are all fine (as are other games) but no ATC Sound. I have monitored config file and can see changes under ATC when I make different voice and tower selections. This can only be an in-game bug.

I have seen many many posts anout this in earlier versions too. Surely when all other sounds are working this has to be an internal bug?

Do the devs look at these posts or should I be posting somewhere else?

All posts are seen by L-M.

I can only say that this is not a P3D issue or bug, because I hear the ATC sounds. If it was a general issue I would not hear them.

This is on an Asus Z170-A motherboard, using the RealTek sound chips on the motherboard with up-to-date drivers.

Edit: I can also get sound from my graphics card through the HDMI connection, but it does not sound very good. The Sound from the motherboard is much better and crystal clear.

Hi.

I could say it is related to prepar3d, because before to upgrade to Windows 10 2004, I re-installed the fist version of P3D V5 on my HDD and i could hear the ATC again. Same hardware (Cpu/motherboard/gpu) and same version of software (windows/nvidia drivers) just different disk (SSD) with P3D V5 Hotfix i can not hear it. Possibly something internally changed between the first version and the hotfix.

Regards.

Hello,

Are you seeing this on a clean installation? Is there a specific location and sequence of ATC commands that reproduce this issue?

have you checked your outputdevice for communication in P3D? Sometimes is has been set to a headset or so that you are not using and then you do not hear any ATC
