Re: VR V4.3 - Using Voice Controls

The voice control component is a great addition. I have used Voice Attack for sometime to get voice control into the P3D cockpit. Now that P3D has native voice control I have one less program to run.

Please continue to expand the voice control capabilities.

Re: Helicopter Autopilot not holding Alt

Something must be wrong in the setup somewhere. I am using the helo autopilot in 4.3 and it works fine.

Re: 4.3 VR: Save Instrument Panel Location & Double Dots

Thanks Kayla for your reply. I use the Oculus Rift HMD. The double dot only occurs if I am attempting to focus on something closer rather than farther. If the dot is projected into both lenses I would expect the problem is I am trying to focus on something that is inside the focal point of the to le...

4.3 VR: Autopilot Use

Occasionally, when adjusting the heading, speed, altitude, or vertical speed by clicking on the + or - buttons the autopilot will go into an uncontrolled rapid adjustment of the particular item. The uncontrolled adjustment can only be stopped by clicking on the opposite adjustment + or - button. Als...

4.3 VR: Save Instrument Panel Location & Double Dots

I have updated to 4.3 and fly exclusively VR. Is there a way to save the instrument panel location and status once the panel is setup in the VR cockpit? I am seeing two small dots in the VR cockpit when I am trying to focus on an object that is fairly close. If my focus is farther away the dots merg...

Re: Helicopters!!

Don't worry about FSUIPC at the moment. If you are using P3DV4.2 your rudder pedals should work for helicopters as well as airplanes. You just need to ensure you have the rudder pedals setup via the P3DV4.2 Axis Assignments to control the rudder/tailrotor axis.

Re: Helicopters!!

Your pedals associated with the yoke should work with the joystick. Just program the pedals to control the rudder/tailrotor on the helicopter that you wish to fly. Do you use FSUIPC to control your flight controls?

Re: Helicopters!!

Oh my. It isn't as easy as "telling you how". Helicopters are very different from airplanes, as you have found out. Not to be rude, but, do you know any details concerning helicopter flight dynamics? If not, perhaps you would do well to go to hovercontrol.com and seek some assistance. Those folks ar...

That is what I do. I configure all of my controls thru FSUIPC.

Helicopter Autopilot Additional Capabilities

The current helicopter AP is a welcome addition. I fly helicopters exclusively and have given the new AP a good workout. Below are some additional capabilities that would be very helpful: 1. A hover hold mode. The mode would hold the helicopter at the current altitude and position, to include compen...

Re: Autopilot in Helicopter

Yaw damper setting at 100 has totally fixed the oscillation problem....thanks Jorge. Still cannot get the AP to start or even appear for the Milviz Huey as outlined 2 posts up. Cheers. Tom: To get the AP panel to showup inthe Huey you need to ensure you have installed it into the correct version of...

Re: Autopilot in Helicopter

Jorge: I have been able to get the AP altitude to adjust by less than 100 foot units by adjusting the barometric pressure setting. I have used this to facilitate hoist/slingload ops. Just have to remember to reset barometric pressure to current setting after load is attached/released. I will try you...

Re: Autopilot in Helicopter

Still having considerable tail-wagging/oscillation when the AP is activated. I have adjusted settings for yaw damping in the AP config, but, I am not seeing much improvement.

Re: Autopilot in Helicopter

Only 100 foot increments? There was a helicopter AP that worked in pre-P3DV4 that allowed hover down to 10 feet, in 10 increments. It was a separate gauge, so, it is possible with code changes. Perhaps LM will consider for future versions.

Re: Autopilot in Helicopter

Some additional information. If I place the helo in a hover and activate the AP, then select Altitude Hold, the AP will hold the helo in a stable hover at the selected altitude. By ensuring the Heading Hold is not selected one can actually move the helo forward/backward and side to side while mainta...
