Re: Delete Generated Files

Instead of SCE, if you want to follow the P3D xml scenery convention, you should get Lorby's Add on Organizer. http://www.lorby-si.com/downloads.html Scroll down and you will find it after a few of Lorby's other freeware offerings. There is a learning curve to this, but once you get the hang of it, ...

problem with PTA 2.63 and P3D V.4.4

Greetings everyone, I have used PTA with general success. But, somewhere along the line I evidently did or changed something so that now when I load a replacement shader file via PTA I receive a message that several aspects of the installation are in error. I have looked for answers elsewhere, inclu...

Re: Disappearing Taxiway

ABP_ESMS.bgl should be in your P3D/ORBX/FTX VECTOR/FTX VECTOR APT/SCENERY FOLDER.

Re: Sound Issue with P3D 4.4

I am having the same thing. I thought it might be engine failure. I fly the V-117 from Jan Visser Manfred Jahn. If not flown by the numbers, engine failure will surely follow. At least, now I know this is perhaps by deliberate P3D design. I can only blame myself for engine failure. btw, for those of...

Re: xml scenery files

thanks, Jorge...looks like a lot for me to tackle...so, I have to decide whether I will undertake some maintenance, or just strap into the seat belt and go flying....frankly, the latter sounds like more fun....but, I will check out the sdk section.

Re: xml scenery files

thanks, Dan....I have seen discussions of this topic at ORBX which I follow regularly. I guess that I will have to try and wrap my fuzzy old head around this concept a bit harder....truth is sim works fine, no real layering issues beyond the usual plateau airport deviations....just trying to underst...

xml scenery files

Is there a doc that explains what xml scenery files are and how they differ from other scenery files? My question is prompted by the fact that when I use the Lorby scenery organizer tool, some files that I want placed at the top, over all of my ORBX files, tend to be scattered within the file direct...

Re: Question about loading sequence

thanks for the ideas and comments. I am using P3D V.4....I do have a handful of scenery additions, do not push all sliders to the far right. Admittedly, my rig is about 3+ years old....once loaded, very good performance....but, you have given me a few things to think about...Thanks, again...

Question about loading sequence

Hi all, This is more out of curiosity than a problem. Whenever I boot P3D (the same was true for FSX), I would watch the bootup on Task Manager. The memory numbers increased over time, but they would bounce around showing more or less memory usage instead of a straight linear increase. Do the rest o...

Re: P3D asks to load "phantom scenery"

Just to clear the topic, I found the problem yesterday. I was searching for anything "Hawaii" related in my P3D related files and folders outside of the core P3D folder. I did find such a folder which held xml files that referenced Hawaii. They were left overs from my original installation of the sc...

Re: P3D asks to load "phantom scenery"

Hi Poppet, thanks for the response. No joy, the Hawaii file is not there. I am going to be away from my system for a couple of weeks, so unless I solve this problem before tomorrow, it will have to wait. Thanks, and if you have any other suggestions, I welcome them. For example, should I do a repair...

Re: 1/2 Refresh Rate Vsync

Tomaz,

I realize this is confusing. So, here is my suggestion. Fly for a while both with and without VSync. Think about which one looks and performs better in your specific system. That is the setting to use. Hope this simple suggestion helps.'

I also rolled back to 397 for the same reasons cited above by other posters. Things have run well since then...btw, I did not do a clean install, but now that the suggestion has been made, I will reinstall clean.....

Re: 1/2 Refresh Rate Vsync

Hi Tomaz.... I am not an employee of LM nor connected in any way except as a customer for P3D. I am not even what you would call a techie....but, I have been simming since the mid 1980s. P3D is more gpu dependent than is FSX, which needs more CPU horsepower to perform to its capability. assuming you...
